Google Docs is Google’s word processor program. It which offers a variety of features to make the creation of your Word more efficient and faster. However, finding out an extra page hanging around somewhere, in your Google Docs happens frequently. Especially when working with documents that originated from another source. And now you want to delete an unwanted page in Google Docs because that unwanted and extra page could be the thing standing between you and a promotion, higher letter grade, or even a book deal — you never know.
Deleting blank pages in Google Docs is pretty simple. It only take a few clicks to delete a page in Google Docs and there are 3 different ways to do it. This guide provides three methods for removing an extra unwanted page in Google Docs.
How To Delete A Page In Google Docs
Option 1: Highlight and delete
If the problem with your project is too much content, and you notice a page that you want to delete, getting rid of that extra page is very simple.
Put your cursor at the end of the page and highlight the entire page or text by holding down the mouse and moving it to the top of the page. After highlighting, just click the delete button. This will work perfectly and your unused tab will disappear.
Option 2: Delete an unwanted page break
If you seem to have a blank space taking up a page that you don’t want and can’t type in, it’s probably a page break that you inserted in the document unintentionally. Getting rid of page break is simple. You can try to delete the page just by placing your cursor immediately after the blank space and pressing the backspace or delete button until it disappears.
If you notice that the page break isn’t the issue, the problem may be the way your page margins are set — perhaps they’re too large.
To adjust margins: You need to go at the top of the document, on the left side of the toolbar click File > Page Setup to adjust your margins.
The problem may be that the page is trying to insert too large of a margin on the bottom. So just shrink it down to get the correct number of pages in your document. You can set all of your margins to one inch (or whatever size you desire).
Option 3: Use custom spacing
Head up to the Template screen > Splitting panel > Custom arrangement. Here we are looking at the width of a line after a sentence. Essentially, if you tell Docs to insert a certain amount of spacing after a paragraph, it could be creating a new page which you don’t need. If this value is greater than zero, try setting it back to zero and see if it erases your space.
One of these options should have worked for you. Now you can continue working efficiently, without getting in the way of an additional tab.
